At 12 years of age a cat enters the second phase of aging. During this phase, the aging process begins to accelerate and signs of aging may become more visible. AGING SPAYED/NEUTERED 12+ offers targeted nutrients to help support an aging cat with a specialized combination of antioxidants, including vitamins C and E, lutein, taurine, green tea extracts and lycopene, as well as anti-inflammatory omega 3s (EPA and DHA), glucosamine and chondroitin. AGING SPAYED/NEUTERED 12+ also helps to support a calm disposition in an aging cat through an optimal level of the amino acid tryptophan.
The reduced energy requirements of a spayed or neutered cat do not change as it enters its aging years. AGING SPAYED/NEUTERED 12+ provides optimal nutrition for an aging spayed or neutered cat, while respecting its lower energy requirements. AGING SPAYED/NEUTERED 12+ is formulated to help minimize the accumulation of excess fat in the body and promote lean muscle mass through a high protein and lower caloric content. Supplemental L-carnitine (200 mg/kg min) helps to burn excess fat stored, while an adapted feeding guide and unique kibble design help ensure appropriate feeding amounts, contributing to a healthy body weight in your cat.

All 3 of my older cats love this food. One of my cats is very picky eater. He will wait until I add wet food to the dry. Now with the Royal Canin food, he eats just the dry with no problem. Changing to Royal Canin has help my other cat with his skin problems. I have been dealing with his allergies for years. His skin is healthy right now , no scabs. They started Royal Canin food 1 month ago.

My 18 year old kitty likes this reasonably well, but it has disappeared from shelves *everywhere* at least around here. The canned 12+ is very good too - she'll eat that but won't touch the urinary health stuff; and she's having some kidney issues as is common in older cats, but this is the best we can do. If we can find it. C'mon - get it out there!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of my cats had a urinary blockage and underwent surgery. Since then he is required to eat the special diet cat food so he drinks more water and the blockage doesn’t repeat.
We have other cats and they eat it too since we have a self feeder. I have mixed other Urinary diet cats foods with the Royal Canin and it’s funny to watch them pick out the royal canin kibbles. They love this food! It gets pricey to feed all of them straight royal canin (that’s why I mix) but it’s their clear choice!!
