It is important that very young puppies get the proper nutrition right from the start to ensure they grow strong and healthy. Starter mousse is formulated to support the increased energy and nutritional needs of the mother from the last 1/3 of gestation through lactation, and very young puppies from weaning up to 2 months.
The transition from the mother’s milk to solid food can be a difficult time in the puppy’s life. Starter mousse has a very fine mousse texture that makes it easy to lap up, facilitating the transition from milk to solid food. It is also highly palatable to help ensure the puppy eats its food and obtains all the nutritional support required for healthy development.
The digestive capabilities of the very young puppy have not reached their full potential which can result in loose stool. Starter mousse is formulated with highly digestible ingredients, including low indigestible proteins (LIPs), to help increase the protein utilized by the body and reduce indigestible protein going to the colon, helping to improve stool quality.

I bought this food for the second litter of my toy poodle puppies. I have been feeding it to the Mama as the puppies are only 3 weeks old. The 3 puppies are very healthy and alert. They are all gaining weight well and the Mom’s milk production has been better for this litter. I believe this food has made a difference and my puppies are happy and very healthy because of it.

I have been using this for a few years now on my litters after 3 weeks old and the puppies take to it right away and there has been no digestion issues. It is easy to then mix in a little with the mushy kibble to transition. Pups look great!

Highly recommend , awsome food for MOM and Baby
Puppies are thriving on this , I started using the same food in kibble and its making the transition very easy. So far pups have accepted the food very well since day 1 and no digestive issues to report. I have started the weening process and this is going fine as well . Thank you RC

Have been buying for years just got a case that was dented and many cans went bad....ordering more buy now cans are smaller less food? But my picky eaters will eat this...so I keep ordering.

I have used this on puppies that were recovering from Parvo, and an orphan litter. It was wonderful, easy to digest and pleasing to a recovering baby, or puppies with no mom. Wonderful product

My miniature poodle girls are diligent moms and get extremely worn out in the first week or two after birth. This food is easy for them to eat quickly and get the nutrients/calories they need to produce enough milk. It also helps keep them hydrated. It does cause loose stool, so I recommend mixing it with a tblsp of puréed sweet potatoes. For the puppies, I start them with a bit of this at the first weaning feedings. The food’s aroma and taste makes them much more excited about eating from the dish. It also comes in smaller tray sizes and is sold at local Petsmart stores for a bit of a markup.

I have found that this is the absolute only food to add to mothers diet to help her produce a good milk supply. I raise yorkies and chihuahuas and they are a breed who can sometimes have trouble producing enough milk. Adding a can of this per day to their normal diet ( royal canin mini adult and mini puppy dry free fed) boosts momma dogs milk production and she has no problems!!!! I always start feeding a can per day about 2 weeks prior to due date all the way untill babies are weaned. Babies love it too as their first food!
