It does stop my GSD puppy's diarrhea, but looks like the nutrition is not enough for the GSD so my puppy kept picking up stuffs (leaves, sand, stone etc) on the floor.

Works as intended

2 month old mastiff puppy gradually developed the runs from his previous food over a month or so. This cleared it up in 2 meals. Night and day difference. My cat of 14 years who passed away last year was also on Royal Canin (for a different issue) and it always served her well. I also like that the daily percentages (protein especially) are much more in line with what a giant breed puppy should be consuming, as opposed to the Royal Canin 'Giant Breed' specific puppy food, which personally I feel is far too high. He also loves the taste, though there isn't much he WON'T eat.

Our puppy hates it

Our puppy was highly motivated by food. You couldn't stop her from running to us when she smelled it, but when we were given this brand from our vet due to an upset stomach she had after surgery, she wouldn't touch her food. She'd bark at it, and literally use her paws to dig out every kibble she found. She completely rejected the wet version of this food too (more so than the kibble).

Each new service puppy, every time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Raising guide dogs for the blind and service dogs for veterans, each new puppy that comes home ( and I’m currently on number 14) all start their time with me on Royal Canin GI Puppy! Transition from Breeder to me, leaving littler maters, travel, sleeping alone, new environments-all these can stress a puppy. By feeding G I Puppy , i know Im giving his gut a chance to recover from the stress, lessen any GI upset he might have, help his immune system while waiting for vaccines to kick in, and increase the animal/human connection! i then transition to the size appropriate RC Puppy food! No one ever has a stool problem, they grow and thrive and are happy AND healthy!!! Thank you Royal Canin for helping our canine hero’s stay strong in their service!!!

Excellent Food for My Sensitive Puppy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this food a few weeks ago because my puppy has a sensitive stomach. Since being on this diet strictly he has done so well! We haven't had anymore GI issues.

Solved soft stool problem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Weimaraners are prone to IBD, so we were not surprised when our new pup started having soft stools. The gastrointestinal puppy formula solved that problem but we eventually had to upgrade to Royal Canin hypoallergenic formula (P/V) when upper GI symptoms presented themselves. I have a lot of experience with Royal Canin hypoallergenic foods, and have been 100% satisfied.

Great food for puppies that get into things!

My puppy gets into everything! In order to keep everything flowing and to avoid spouts of puppy diarrhea or nausea, this is a great product. My puppy loves the flavor and prefers it over other puppy foods I've tried. Unfortunately, I have a large breed pup so the kibbles are REALLY tiny for her. If they came out with a GI for large puppies I would continue buying it, however she just inhales it without chewing since it is so small and with how fast she goes through it, it is no longer worth it for me. Definitely recommend for small to medium breeds or younger large breed pups!
