Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ® Canine Gastrointestinal High Energy dry dog food is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Chihuahua loves it! This product helps my Chihuahua so much. She's on the RC Gastro dry and the RC Gastro moist. She also has the RC Gastro treats. They're such wonderful products. They've changed the life of my baby. Before the Gastro foods she used the RC Chihuahua foods. She was diagnosed with IBS and Colitis. I highly recommend Royal Canin products to everyone. No matter what your specific needs are, they have something for all pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ROYAL CANIN=ROYAL TREATMENT FOR MY CANINE My dog started having alot of stomach issues when we had her on dog food that we purchased at our local Wal Mart. But when we started buying and feeding her Royal Canin Gastrointestinal dog food her stomach problems reduced tremendously. She didn't just lay around sickly all the time. She started running and playing with the kids again and we could tell that she felt alot better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have a particularly fussy young dog. I have found it difficult to get him to eat well. Very fussy about kibble size and quantity fed. But he seems to enjoy the smaller kibbles of the GI high energy vs. the larger kibbles in the GI low fat. And I am able to feed him less. He often gets overwhelmed with large amounts of food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect food for my dog! My dog Rio is a boxer mix and was diagnosed with a sensitive stomach almost 2 years ago. When we found out, we tried out many different sensitive stomach diet foods and after several months of testing, found that RC GI High Energy was the best fit for him. Wish it was more affordable but my dog's health is most important!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My picky dog I was having a difficult time finding a food that my dog would eat and also trying to keep weight on her. I took her to the vet and did all sorts of blood tests to see if something was wrong with her. Nope, nothing. Healthy. So my vet recommended a High Energy diet by Royal Canin and she loves it. No more picky eater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Solution My vet recommended this food for my 2 year old Labrador. She had mushy stools and several per day. After being on gastrointestinal she has one or two stools in a 24 hour period and they are well formed. Obviously she is metabolizing more of this food and it solved the problem. My only qualm is th cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped our sick boy get better!! We adopted a 4 year old Aussie in November and he was extremely under weight with anemia and a cobalamin and folate deficiency. With a detailed feeding plan and lots and no lots of love - this GI food has helped him tremendously! Went from 39# to a healthy 52# now! Definitely a backer of Royal Canin now!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The vet put our puppy on this food 2 years ago due to his frequent throwing up. He still appears to have a sensitive stomach. It has been a burden to pay about $88 for a 22lb. bag of this food. I do not see any ingredients in it that appear to be any different then other non prescription dog food. I am not sure if we should continue with this food or not. I had a dog as a child and he lived 16 years and we fed him the cheapest canned dog food we could find. He never saw the vet except for his yearly rabies shot and never had one health problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food Jock has been on this food for almost 2 years. He is a high energy shepherd with some intestinal issues. After trying multiple foods, this is the only thing he would eat and begin to actually put on weight. I highly recommend this food to anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for dogs with sensitive stomachs My dog has a sensitive GI tract and this is good for her GI issues. We supplement with the wet, as that is her preferred diet choice. Compared to the other GI diets, this one keeps her from acting hungry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog Loves It! We had to switch to a gastrointestinal brand recently due to health issues. We were purchased another brands but our dog refused to eat it even when we mixed it with other things she would pick out the pieces. She was losing weight until we finally found Royal Canin. We are pleased to find something that she looks forward to eating and her weight is back up again. Very pleased!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gave my rescue dog new life! I adopted Dale about 8 months ago. He only weighed 5.5 pounds. He had some digestive issues and some issues with absorbing vitamins and minerals from his food. We started him on the gastrointestinal high energy food along with some vitamin injections and he’s now almost 8 pounds!!! Not only that but his fur grew in where he previously didn’t have any. A huge transformation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog loves it The Vet put my dog on this almost two years ago now and my Dog has been able to gain the weight he needs and finally has an appetite. If he loves it then I love it. I like the resealable bag. I do wish it came in a larger bag, I have a St. Bernard who eats a lot and the 22lbs bag goes very fast. But the quality of the product itself is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing for my lab/pointer mixes For the longest time it was beyond difficult to keep weight on my to Labrador retriever German shorthand pointer mixes. On other diets I would feed more than the recommended amount and still have weight loss. Also their stools were NEVER formed. This came into our lives and we are beyond happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have been using this brand of Royal Canin for about 2 years to feed my yorkies and toy poodle. I get it from my Vet as I couldn't find it in pet stores and the price is the same on line. My dogs love it so there is never a waste. I like the fact that it comes in small bits.
