Product Reviews
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ® Canine Hydrolyzed Protein PS dry dog food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've been buying this product for over a year for my rescued pit boxer mix named Cam. Cam has severe food allergies, and before switching to this food he was in constant distress. He would scratch his ears until they would literally bleed. They were always red, inflamed and full of gunk! He would turn pink from the stress and itchiness and twitch in pain and discomfort. And of course, he linked his white feet until they were a dull brown color. This often caused open sores on his feet. After switching to the hydrolyzed protein food, Cam is the picture of happy health! This food has literally been a life changer for the 4-legged love of my life! I can't thank our vet enough for the support through the tough times and the recommendation of Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog has IBD and this has worked flawlessly! If anyone knows, IBD is a fun thing in that you have to change the food of your dog every year or two as they become allergic to every new protein introduced. The theory behind Hydrolyzed Protein is that the dog's system can't react to it because it is already pre-broken down in a way to stop the reaction against the protein source. So far it has worked like a charm and my pup has been happy and healthy on it for about a year now. I'm looking forward to seeing if it works in not having to switch out her food again like my vet expects! High quality food, she loves it, and adjusting to keep her at her ideal weight was easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from life saving When my dog turned 8 yes old. He began to have unprovoked IBS/IBD. It was devastation to us both. We tried everything from test that were inconclusive medication that had huge side effects. So after 8 long months of highs and lows. then we finally changed his diet. Removing Rx medication one by one. After 2 weeks of being on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein his BM became normal something that I haven't had in months. Thanks to Royal Hydrolyzed HP Stryker has been about to continue his career as a sport dog. It has been almost 4 years and he is still happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heathy dog food with great taste and perfect size! My two Yorkie had sensitive stomach and had bad food allergy. For the past 6 years, they have been eating the Veterinary diet Hydrolyzed Protein dry dog food for small dogs. No more vomiting or sensitive dry skin. They looks fit, heathy and beautiful coat. Dog food smells great, so I decided to try one, it taste pretty good and I am sure it would be wonderful taste for my two Yorkie. One more important factor why I liked this dog food is the pieces are small and thin. My girl Yorkie lost many teeth from her childhood. She had trouble eating other brand dog food before because it was too big or too thick in which she's unable to chew or swallow properly and she decided not to eat. Since we had the food changed, she gained back her weight to normal and healthy size. Thank you Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for my Zoie Placed on food by vet after nearly dying due to food allergies and an infection. Started with canned being mixed and placed thru a feeding tube. Zoie was so happy when we got to change over to dry. I was thrilled just to hear the "crunch" of dry dog food! In the past 2 years we have changed back and forth between HP and PS. And recently used the hydrgolized protein in small bites. This dog food helped save my baby and I am forever thankful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more allergies!!! Our lab is 6 years old. She has fought ear and skin infections since we got her. We were at the vet monthly for steroids and antibiotics. I didn't like the thought of using drugs to correct her issues any more. Our vet recommended Ultamino years ago and I went back and forth due to the cost. I tried every other food on the market with no improvement. I finally broke down 2 months ago due to the worst ear infection she has ever had. After a course of Meds and food switch she has never been healthier. Her ears are such a healthy pink and no more redness. She acts like a lab pup again. This food is worth every penny. If your at your wits end with ear and skin infections due to allergies this food is a must. Thank you for a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more scratching! One of my dog was always itch and often had ear infection and hot spot. Our vet suggested to try elimination diet to rule out his allergen. However, it seemed really time consuming process and we decided to feed this diet instead. Weeks later I noticed he's scratching less, and he has been ear infection and hot spot free over two years now! I also like that this food (small breed version) has SO index.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for his digestive tract My dog was having problems with food and we had tried quite a few, including another prescription diet, with no luck. He had an ultrasound, which didn't show anything in particular. My vet suggested this particular formula and he has been doing really well on it. He will be 13 years old in November and his health has been good and people always compliment him on his beautiful coat.
