Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ® Canine Hydrolyzed Protein Small Breed dry dog food 8.8 lb bag is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 105.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Food for my Little Angel! I found this food several years ago. My King Charles Cavalier was having GI upset with every food we tried - even the limited ingredient diets! To make matters worse, she tends to be a little on the picky side as, and often did not eat regularly! When I introduced this food the frequent vomiting/regurgitation ended and she starting eating regularly twice daily! She also developed frequent UTIs, so when Royal Canin added the S/O index (helps with urinary issues) to the small breed variety, we switched to that and haven't looked back! The food is super high quality and backed by lots of research, and it must be highly palatable if my princess will eat it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for picky dogs. My Basset Hound named Daffodil is 14.3 years old and has chronic pancreatitis, arthritis, and is a very picky eater. I struggled most of her life trying to figure out what to feed her. I had taken her to the emergency vet several times because she stopped eating. My Puggle and younger Basset Hound have food allergies and one has IBD. The vet prescribed Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein dog food. I put the food in the bowls and Daffodil began eating it! I was surprised and called the vet to see if it was Okay for her to have and he said yes! That was 1.5 years ago! Daffy continues to eat the food and has more energy and plays with the other dogs again. Thank you Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved little Momo's life! My dog Momo is an under 4lb chihuahua and almost died from pancreatitis. She could no longer thke in the protein of the food she was eating and it nearly killed her. The vet after some emergency treatment put her on this food because it has already started the digestive process and made it so her body could obsorb it. Though it is expensive and she will have to be on it for life it is totally worth it when you see her back to here normal bubbly self again. This food has saved here life and I am very greatful to royal canin for coming up with this formula for dogs like mine that would otherwise be lost. So again Thank you Royal Canin! *the canned version of this is her main diet as she has bad teeth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Explains the product well. Yoda, our French bulldog, has been eating this product for three years and has thrived. He has a very sensitive digestive tract, but he has never had a problem with his stomach since he started eating canin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better in 2 days! I was hesitant to start my recently adopted Akita on RC. My previous dog, an Akita-mix, was on it for 10 years and did great, but I couldn't believe that my luck was so bad as to have two dogs in a row with food allergies. But, he was scratching all day, everyday, so I decided to bite the bullet and fill my prescription for RC Hydrolyzed Protein. Within 2 days, the volume of my dog's BMs decreased by about 66% and it is solid, as it should be. He also has a lot more energy and his eye discharge has cleared up. I will have to wait a little longer to see if the scratching subsides, but I'm pretty sure I've found the cure! Now, my biggest problem is convincing a 100-lb dog that he's not a lap dog!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Winnie has a very sensitive GI system and had suffered several bouts of colitis over the first 4 years of her life. I tried every high quality retail brand and even a different brand of prescription kibble and none of it worked. Finally, our vet recommend this RC vet diet and it has been amazing. Winnie is a picky eater but she loves this kibble (and it's small enough for her to eat) and her GI health has never been better. She has been eating this exclusively for almost a year and I couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Food Sensitivity Solution My vet recommended that we try the Hydrolyzed Protein Small Breed dry food to find out what food(s) my dog had developed a sensitivity or allergy to. As we went through the food elimination process, it was discovered that Giselle had developed a sensitivity to poultry and any dog food product that had poultry in it. Royal Canin's Hydrolyzed Protein dry food turned out to be the dry food Giselle would always go back to whenever we would try different flavors and products. She loves it so much that we also use it as treats when working with and training her. Thank you, thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog loves this food! Patches has allergies and was getting frequent collitis. The vet recommended this food to determine if the allergies were food related. After two months on this food the allergy symptoms have not improved, so a no go there. However, she hasn't had a bout of colitis since being on this food. She also loves it. With other food, we used to have to cajole her to eat, now she goobles it right up. I highly recommend this food.
