Benefits

Struvite Dissolution
Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths.

Low RSS
Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis.

Urine Dilution
Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Dog loves this I purchase the S/O dry dog food to use as a snack food. I recently received the "small dog" version of the S/O dry dog food. I didn't know the dry dog food came in small bites but am very pleased it was just sent when I ordered it. My Holly a 17 pound min pin Cannot get enough. I also use the two types of can food for her as well. The S/O was recommended to me from my sister who also uses a different form of Royal Canin. My vet agrees to feed my dog the S/O even though they do not sell it through their office. My Holly had to have surgery for a full bladder of stones back in 2012 and has been on your S/O ever since - and to this day still is Stone Free. Have and will continue to recommend Royal Canin to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Urinary Diet that Really Works! I have 2 small breed Male dogs that have both been diagnosed with urinary crystals and stones. Both have had very costly surgery for this problem. My Veterinarian recommended this dog food. They have been on Royal Canin Urinary SO dry and can dog food for over 6 years. To this day they have not gotten any crystals or stones in their urinalysis testing. Definitely does what it is supposed to do. A much better alternative than putting pets through the pain and surgery of not using this dog food. I would not trust my dogs health to any other dog food. Great Job Royal Canin! Hollywood and Elmo Salute You!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping my dog healthy When my 10 year old dog had a kidney removed in December of 2011, we immediately switched to Urinary S/O to hopefully stave off the formation of any stones. The prognosis we were given was that most likely she would live only another 2 years since that was the usual length of time given her age and the fact that she is a medium size dog. This December 2015 marks the fourth anniversary of her surgery.....she will be 14 this November and although she is slowing down, her check ups have been terrific. Am I happy? I am thrilled. Thanks Royal Canin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WONDERFUL FOOD!! When we rescued our little Shih Tzu-Japanese-Chin mix, Lily, we were told she had bladder stones, and needed to be on a special, prescription diet. The foster mother brought a bag of Royal Canin with her when she brought Lily here..."home," and recommended that we continue to use it for her. We have, of course, and Lily loves it and gobbles it up every feeding time. I do feel, bad, however, that she cannot eat anything else, as I give our other rescue, Tiffy, pieces of healthy food; veggies, small pieces of chicken or beef, occasionally. But Lily's last check-up was great, so the food is working wonderfully!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog was filled with over 100 bladder stones, so he needed emergency surgery, his doctor preformed surgery and successfully removed the stones. He is doing great! The Vet recommended Royal Canin SO Uninary and he loves the food, and adjusted to the new food with No problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dogs Love! Both my dogs have to be on a restricted diet, they were on another brand for a while but the taste was not good and it was a struggle to get them to eat. When we switched to the SO diet they loved it! The taste and the small dog size was wonderful. They both love the food and now meal time is no longer a struggle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Free of stones Missy, our 9 lb. rescue Japanese Chin, was not doing well and seemed to be having pain about 6 years ago. A urinalysis confirmed that she had crystals in her urine. Our veterinarian told us she was prone to bladder stones and recommended Royal Canin Canine Urinary SO for her. She felt a whole lot better not that long after eating this food and has done well ever since, fortunately never needing surgery which so many dogs do. She is 12 years old and very healthy and lively. She likes the food. Sometimes we treat her with the canned food to give her some variety which she absolutely loves. If your dog has this issue, I highly recommend Royal Canin Canine Urinary SO. So good to have a happy dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye Bye UTI's My doctor recommended that I get a companion pet due to my medical issues. I adopted Nellie almost two years ago and from the start we discovered that she suffered with urinary tract infections quite frequently. (Being a female myself, I know the pain and discomfort that UTI"s can cause) After three rounds of medication from the vet, we agreed that something more needed to be done. Our options were 1. Run an extensive round of testing that would be very expensive, or 2. Try a prescription dog food that could possibly help decrease her urinary issues. Well, I am proud to say that Royal Canine has been a Heaven sent for Nellie and I. Nellie has not had a UTI since starting her new diet and both she and I are extremely grateful. Thanks Royal Canin, my babygirl is now painfree!
