Product Information
Benefits

Struvite Dissolution
Provides nutrition that aids in the management of pure struvite uroliths.

Moderate Calorie
Moderate calorie content, compared to canine Urinary SO, to help maintain ideal weight.

Urine Dilution
Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals.

Low RSS
Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ® Canine Urinary SO ® Moderate Calorie dry dog food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 331.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vet Ordered My 6 year old Pomeranian had a medical emergency 8 months ago with two stones completely blocking his bladder. After surgery the Vet recommended this dog food. I thought I might have a problem changing his food, but he loved it immediately; gobbling it down. Not only is he completely stone free, but has lost 2 lbs. (a lot for a small dog). One completely unexpected side effect is his energy. He acts like a puppy again; playful and active. Even his groomer noticed the difference. She said his coat is healthier and he seems more alert. I would definitely highly recommend this product to any who have dogs with urinary problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bonnie loves her RC SO! One half of the dynamic duo of Bonnie and Clyde, my cavaliers, has suffered from stones and weight issues. Our vet, Cindy Hooper, recommended this food. After painful surgery to remove 100s of stones and then a long recovery, she eats this every day and has had no more stones, UTIs and has kept her weight stable. We have gone so far as to carry it on a plane to get it to her...imagine TSAs looks as they pull out giant baggies filled with dog food!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its Job!!!! I have been using Moderate Calorie SO on many of my Corgi Rescues as they have a propensity to have crystals and stones. It has done the trick and keeps the pH level in their urine and the Moderate Calorie keeps the weight off too!!! I also had a terrier mix with vWd that had oxalate stones in his ureter. Due to do vWd surgery was not an option. I figured I would lose him due to the stones, but started him on the SO to see. Well, he lived 7 years longer eating SO and xrays periodically showed to stone growth a bit of shrinkage of stone actually and we lost him to old age at the ripe age of 16 years. I believe without the SO diet, he would have never seen 11 years.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our Miniature Schnauzer will actually eat this foo After learning the hard way that schnauzers are prone to bladder stones, we were prescribed the S/O mix. Fussy eater is a understatement. Prior to her issue we had tried every brand, no luck with any of the purina range, no interest in cheif Michaels etc etc. The royal canine is not a visually exciting food but I don't think dogs really care if they have simulated colors in their food. The important thing is smell and taste and so far after 8 months the little German is still cleaning her bowl. The stones have not returned so we are all more than happy with this food, thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly A Lifesaver My Miniature Schnauzer was constantly going to the Vet for urinary tract infections... almost every month or two... this was a severe problem. When my Vet recommended ROYAL CANIN URINARY S/O MODERATE CALORIE DRY DOG FOOD, I started her on it immediately !! AMAZINGLY !!! - what WAS immediate, were the RESULTS. She not only enjoyed the food, she has not had one visit to the Vet for a urinary tract infection since the first day she started on Royal Canin... and it's been over two years now. Another bonus, she has kept her girly figure.. nice and lean (which is so important for miniature schnauzers). Another bonus I didn't expect, she is now drinking what I consider a normal, healthy amount of water. Before Royal Canin, I could barely get her to drink more than a quarter cup of water daily. Hearing her lap up the water makes me thank Royal Canin every day for a much healthier dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Have been using the Royal Canin feline urinary SO for about 6 yrs now for a female cat who the first vet said " it's a behavioral issue." It wasn't and I'm thankful I found another vet They did tests found my girl had bladder stones. She's been so much better since starting on the Royal Canin feline urinary SO food. Though it's a bit pricey for my limited budget, I am happy to buy it to help my girl out. Thank you for your quality products. I mainly use the dry I do but a few cans of the wet for a treat for her and my male cat. They both are eating the dry food. Thank you Royal Canin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product changed my life My corgi was a little stinker growing up and was not very willing to let anyone pick her up or snuggle at all. Then she got a urinary infection. The medicine fixed it but she got another one a couple months later that ended up also being bladder stones. Our vet prescribed this SO blend for a dietary change to see if it would help at all to prevent having to do surgery. Three weeks later her stones were gone. She continues to thrive on this dog food; more receptive to being handled and is the best snuggler you'll ever meet. This urinary SO blend changed our family's life. Thank you Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as a snack! My little shih tzu rescue had severe struvite stones several years ago. She has them removed immediately after I got her and to my chagrin, I was told she'd be on a special dog food diet the rest of her life. We started her on this dry food and I also supplement it with same type of canned. She wolfs this stuff down and can't hardly wait for snack time when I give her a handful of these dry morsels. This food gives new meaning to a tasty morsel! My other dog, who is a picky eater, also relishes what he can steal from her. Her struvite stones are under control and she's a happy eater!
