Product Reviews
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ® Feline Renal Support F dry cat food is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from our cat lives! As adopters of several stray cats, we know and expect our older cats to have troubles. What we didn't expect was our 4 year old Hope to go into complete renal failure. Our vet did the tests and said it was chronic, and sent us home with a bag of subq IV fluid to give twice a day until we had to say goodbye (They felt it would only be days.) They also gave us a bag of your renal F dry food! That was 3 months ago and Hope lives! She eats her kibble and begs for more and has put all her weight back on! The vet wasn't so sure until we pointed out that she even caught a bird last week. Oh, and we stopped IV's over a month ago! Your food, our vet, and our God saved our Hope! Thank you so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life saving Shortly after an emergency surgery to repair her ruptured bladder, I found out that my then 9 month old kitten was in the early stages of renal failure. To find this out about your kitten was heartbreaking, even though something during development probably went wrong. Immediately, she was started on the Royal Canin Renal F and S dry, with the occasional soft food E as a treat. Since then, her levels have remained stable and is a healthy 2 year old (this month!). Her coat is so soft, her eyes are bright, and she is just as lively as she was the day I bought her home. Thank you Royal Canin for your special formulation that allows me to live each day with my best friend by my side!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from He likes it and eats it! I've been feeding Renal Support F to my 16 year old cat (and the formula it replaced) for several years now. The other brand that I had been using started giving him intestinal problems. The pork formula was the one that worked for him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't Believe It! Sadly, our two kitties diagnosed with renal deficiency this week. One is IRIS stage 2, the other stage 3. Started them on Royal Canin Renal Support F. OMG, they LOVE it! Can't get enough. So happy they are enjoying their food!! Hope it improves their kidney numbers, but if not, at least they love to eat it. I wish there was a multi-function kidney support + satiety support. One of our kitties has lost a little weight and has been on satiety support--he LOVES (LOVES LOVES) Satiety Support and it keeps him full longer. He cries between feedings and the satiety keeps him feeling full. The satiety support has too much phosphorus....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cats Like It, Low Stress on Kidney My cats insist on some dry food. Of the 3 renal dry foods, A, F and S, they definitely prefer F. The sodium and phosphorus contents are low, so less stress on kidneys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Learned Much About This Food I worked at a vet for 10 years. Before the Animal Hospital SOLD OUT to Hill's and signed a contract to push Hills, Royal Canin was always a top choice. When the reps would come in, they would have so much information about the time put into research on each diet and all the little things each food helps with on top of its main purpose. Animals that don't eat well WILL love any of these diets, because again, they put the time into making each diet the best it can be for all pets! I had so many clients that would come back and be amazed that their ill animal started chowing down and gaining weight once on this diet and they were so thankful to find it! Worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prognosis was maybe weeks. 3 years later.... In November 2014 I noticed my cat had lost weight, and was looking rather thin (for her). She was acting normally, using the litterbox, eating, drinking, playing... just was looking a little thin. I was shocked and devastated to get her blood values back indicating SEVERE renal failure requiring immediate IV fluids and boarding over the weekend. All the vets were sure this was just biding time and giving me a chance to say goodbye. Her numbers improved a bit, but not back to normal, and I was sent home with Royal Canin Renal F and orders to do SubQ fluids every day (250mL). Every 2 weeks was a checkup. And the numbers got better and better. Soon it was 200mL a day. Then 200mL every other day. Then 200mL every three. And finally 200mL every 4 days. It's been over three years. She's put back some of the weight she lost, and does not look like she's in any kind of ill health at all. My vet repeatedly says that, if it weren't for the fact that he's been treating her for the last 3 years, and that I knew 100% when I got her (and thus at least a minimum age), he would guess she was 8 or 9 years old, instead of the 14 she's turning in January 2018. Everyone who meets her comments on how amazing and plush her coat feels, and how bright and active she is. I know eventually time will run out. But thank you for giving me at least 3 more years with my kitty. She loves her renal diet, and lets me know the moment the bowl is empty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cat LOVES it Percy is recently diagnosed with kidney disease and was prescribed Hills KD. He would not touch it. I read the royal canin reviews and decided to try it. He dove in right away, ate it all, and then tried to tear back into the bag. I am SO happy and relieved.
