Product Reviews
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet ® Feline Ultamino ® dry cat food 5.5 lb bag is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only food that saved my cat My cat Crosby had such severe food allergy breakouts, that there was a point in time when I seriously thought he could die. Even my vet was shocked at his appearance, and the entire clinic had never seen anything so awful. He looked like he had been mauled by another animal, it was that bad. We went on medications, fluids, and started him on Ultamino. It took awhile, but he cleared up, and he is healthy and active once again. I don't even want to chance trying another food. Yes, it is expensive, but I look at it this way - Do I buy an expensive food for my little loved one to keep him healthy, or do I spend far more money in vet bills, while my kitty suffers? There is no comparison. I would recommend Ultamino for anyone who has a cat with severe food allergies. Before and after pictures attached.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from questionable I bought this at my vets advice to attempt to ameliorate some of my cat's allergy symptoms. I have 2 cats and neither one liked the food. They ate less than 1/2 cup total per day between them. No other food was offered. This product doesn't have a wet food complement, so due to allergies, I only put down the dry food. The food gets spongy and sticky during the day from just being out. I don't live near the water, nor is there water in the room with the food, so I'm guessing it has to do with the chemistry in the kibble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food for vomiting cats I put my cats on this product after trying several other G.I. diets. My cats suffer with constant vomiting. We have done bloodwork, radiographs and biopsies of the stomach. Nothing had worked until I started feeding this food. Please make it in can formula.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solves several problems with one food My vet recommended this product for my cat that had bladder stones, another that had allergies and two that showed signs of crystals. So far, so good. Not sure if it will help with bladder stones as it is too early to tell. My cat with allergies though, is in excellent condition. She no longer has sores all over her face and she isn't scratching, non stop, anymore. 5 of my cats love the flavor but one of them isn't too enthused with it. He will eat it though. I don't like the fact that the protein content is so low, but I've tried everything else, and nothing has worked for allergies. The price, on the other hand is ridiculous. At $44.00 for a 5.5 lb. bag, It cost me $170.00 per month to feed all of my cats this food. And it only comes in a small bag, so i have to go to the vets office every week to get food. Very inconvenient and soooo expensive. The only way I'll be able to keep them on this food is if it lowers my vet bills. To recap, excellent food for cats with allergies. Not sure about bladder stones and crystals yet. Very expensive. Bag size makes it inconvenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps my IBD kitty eating I got this a little over a month ago for IBD kitty who has ongoing appetite issues. He and my other cat like it and it doesn't seem to cause any problems to his system. My only complaint is how expensive it is for such a small bag. It's alreadyn so expensive for the meds and vet visits for IBD kitties! I've used other vet formulas from Royal Canin over the years with good results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Food Our cat was having some serious digestive issues and with our Vet we were trying to find a food he could eat. After trying four or five different foods with Meds and limited success(he'd come off the meds and he'd have his issues again) Our Vet called Royal Canin and they suggested Ultamino. We are fast approaching two weeks no meds and he's doing great :)
