Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helped save my cat! We almost lost our cat due to urinary crystals that were caused by another well known common brand of cat food. His urinary tract became clogged and he was basically poisoning himself. Our vet put us on the Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie dry cat food to (1) help eliminate the crystals and (2) to help him lose some weight (he is a big kitty). We've been using it since about 2012/2013 and have been very pleased. Our cat has not only lost some weight, but has not had any crystals detected in any of her exams since. Thank you Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This food is saving my cat's life every day... My male cat dukie got sick with a urinary blockage from crystals that had built up from him eating bad for that I thought was good for him. Blue Buffalo. Here I was paying a ton of money for this food thinking I'm doing something good for my animals. And it ended up almost killing my cat. I literally owe my cat's life to Royal Canin, this dry food and the wet cans of Urinary SO morsels. After my vet saved him with a week long urinary catheter, this is the only food that Dukie can eat without getting sick again. Thank you Royal Canin for giving me countless more years with my beloved kitty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely Love Urinary SO for my cats One of my male cats was diagnosed with having struvite and calcium oxalate crystals when he was 6 months old. He's been on urinary SO ever since and hasn't had any urinary issues. I put my other cat on it as well just because and I get so many compliments on how healthy they are and how shiny their fur is. not too mention the weight control factor. My Eli was on the regular SO and weighed over 10 lbs, I switched him to the moderate calorie and he's now down to 9 lbs which is awesome. Both cats also love the taste. This is just an overall great food. Thank you guys so much for developing a diet that reduces/eliminates the urinary stones/blockages and controls weight. I wouldn't change them to a different food unless I absolutely had too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from He likes it! We have been feeding Maxx, our 5 year old male 'small person' in a Highland Lynx body, Feline Urinary SO Moderate Calorie dry for over 4 years and he hasn't had a single urinary problem since going on this food. He has a tendency to sneak our greyhound Della's food and our other cat Charlotta's 'stinky food' which makes his weight go up so Royal Canin Feline SO Moderate Calorie gives us a way to maintain his ideal weight easily and fend off any urinary problems at the same time. An added bonus is that Maxx really likes it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Saver I was introduced to this cat food by my emergency vet clinic veterinarian. I just lost one of my GrandKitties to struvite crystals and sadly his brother blocked two months after. I wanted to do whatever I could to prevent this from happening again. So, the vet recommend this food and even said it would be safe for my others. At the time I had 8 cats. I now have 11 and they all love this food. It's been 3 years since I lost my baby and happily I didn't lose his brother after I switched to this food. We are a loyal Royal Canine house. We also purchase the indoor hairball and my babies are big Happy healthy Kitties!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy Food Support for longevity Two of my cats that have urinary blocks have been on URINARY SO dry and wet for 5 years now. They took to SO with no diet upset and I have had 0 urinary issues since. I adopt cats that are seniors or special needs and only use Royal Canin Products. I know your products help in longevity and quality of life. I also use your GASTROINTESTINAL Care dry and wet for 3 cats with Thyroid and Gastro issues and find your products are high quality. Thank you for providing quality food for our furry family members and adoptable rescues of every age. Sincerely, Anne B

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My fussy eater loves this food A month ago my chubby male cat was diagnosed with crystals. He is a very fussy eater, and when I heard he would be on special veterinary food I expected he might starve to death. Then I was told it came in a low calorie version, which would be ideal for him. I left with the bag, wondering how long I would wait before asking what our next plan was. No need to worry - he loves it! So much that he ripped open a new bag even though his bowl was full. He has not had a repeat x-ray, but I can tell he his feeling good. I am so happy he loves his prescription food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our cats love it! For some reason our older cat was urinating all over the house and acting as though she were in heat. Two vets told us she needed to be operated on to search for cysts that might be causing elevated levels of estrogen (she is spayed). After we agreed to the surgery and the long and painful recovery, the symptoms returned. We tried a new vet who recommended Royal Canin Urinary Control. Within a week, all of her symptoms stopped and, after a year and half, she is in good health and our house is back to normal. We never did find the cause of her issues but our new vet suspects she had high pH levels in her urine which caused crystals to form, causing her pain and discomfort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth it for no crystals My cat has been on this diet for over a year. Like a lot of male cats, he had some urinary issues that could have led to really harmful crystals. Since we switched to this and started adding extra water to the wet food, he hasn't had any issues. I'm just not sure about the Moderate Calorie part; he has gained weight (but then again, he might be stealing from his brother's non-diet food). It seems like it costs a lot of money for each bag, and it does. A 6-pound bag costs a little less than the 14# bag of Indoor Light. The thing you have to take into account is that this is a prescription; it's medicated so your cat doesn't get those crystals and have to go to the emergency vet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from End to my cat's bladder stones Three years ago my cat had urinary tract infections and bladder stones that required a surgical intervention. She was in pain, and her fur was a greesy mess. After the surgery, I started feeding my cat both dry and canned SO food. Now, three years later, she no longer has any urinary problems, her fur is silky, and she is a healthy cat. Moreover, I now feed the same food to my other cats, and they all love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best urinary diet for indoor cats! Switched my cat from c/d which wasn't keeping her cystitis under control. She was also a little chunky. After the switch, she has reached a more acceptable weight, went UTI free for 2 years (before having another likely brought on by us moving across states), and she has the most beautiful coat! Urinary SO mod calorie is supposed to increase their water intake to flush the bladder and urinary tract more frequently and I have witnessed this increase in thirst. Great diet!!! I recommend it to a lot of people with cats suffering from chronic UTIs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my little lady We adopted our Maine Coon mix Fiona from the local shelter in March 2018. She lived on the streets for who knows how long, then the shelter, so we don't know anything about her life before us. August 2018 she started having accidents around the house and she was in a lot of pain. I took her to the vet and he suspected crystals/stones since we didn't know her history. Thankfully it was just crystals. Within 3 days of eating Royal Canin Urinary SO dry food, she was back to herself. Royal Canin saved our little lady from a life of urinary pain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product I have two tabby cats both males. My one tabby had a problem with blockage. Was continuously taking him to the vets. At the time was using Hill Science diet. The vet at that time did not recommend changing his diet and said he would probably need surgery. I did some research and asked a lot of questions. Finally made the right decision and have been using royal canin urinary s/o both dry and moist for about three years now for both cats. Problem solved no more blockage. This is the only product I feed my cats and also use distilled water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING FOOD! I have been feeding this food to my cats for over seven years. It has been the greatest blessing for my baby boy. He was in the hospital for a week with a severe and life-threatening crystal blockage and I almost lost him. I was crushed. I drove over 25 miles one way every day to visit him and let him know I was still there and loved him. That was seven years ago. He has been on this food since and has never had any issues of any kind again. I cannot say how grateful I am that Royal Canin produces a food that is so miraculous! All of my kids love this food and my boy is happy and healthy! He even uses the toilet now, teaching himself after his hospital stay. Thank you so much Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not only helped with my cats FUS but with his IBS My cat Winston is a British Shorthair, who has FUS... He also had regular IBS flare ups. It wasn't until I accidentally picked up the moderate calorie diet that I found helped control his weight and almost completely eliminate his IBS flare ups completely! I love this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy Cat!! My vet prescribed this after my cat, Howie was hospitalized with blockage commonly associated with male cats. He was under 3 years old at the time and now, he is a healthy, happy 12 year old cat with absolutely no reoccurrence!!! Needless to say - I love this product!! I do want to mention the moderate calorie was necessary because my 2nd kitty gained considerable weight on the regular formula. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well balanced it took a day for my kitties to get used to this product ...they were so used to the national brands that had the different shapes and flavors and they would pick out the shapes and flavors they liked and put the others on the floor..I noticed that once they started eating this product they ate less, I came to realize that it was because it was filling so that they were satisfied and not having to go back several times during the day eating constantly the national brands. I suppose they had wasted calories in their product and wasn't filling when my kitties went to eat their product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST cat food! All three of my cats have been on this food for the past 3 to 4 years. Though it's expensive, I still think it's the best. All of my cats have been happy and healthy ever since, absolutely no issues. Prior, I was still concious of what to feed my kitties, had them on blue buffalo. One of my kitties, sliver, ended up with a urinary tract infection. Scared me half to death. Now he's happy and healthy, no issues since. My other cat, Pirate (named that because he has only one eye), was very obese when I first adopted him. He's losing weight with the help of this food! Thank you!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SAVING HIS LIFE EVERY DAY! I almost lost my Lucky kittie a couple years ago due to a urinary blockage. My vet recommended that I keep him on Royal Canin Urinary SO Moderate calorie for the rest of his life, as this food, will help keep the blockage from happening again. Needless to say I am a firm believer in Royal Canin and their products!!! My Lucky is alive and doing great!! Thank you Royal Canin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LVE THIS FOOD!!! I changed my cats to this after having them on hills c/d moderate calorie for several years, what a big difference! The change was made when my middle cat (I have 3, 2 with uti lifes) started having lose stools and couldn't figure out why. The dr suggested I changed them to the SO, so I do and i couldn't be happier! Their coats are healthier, stools are way better then they ever were and there's no begging for food in between meals! Another side note, hills food always left my food bin greasy at the bottom royals food there isnt even so much of a crumb left at the end! As a vet tech I'm a believer in seeing a product work, and give this product a full backing! Don't think I'll ever use hills food again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Difference!!!! I am taking care of my nephews kitty "Howie". He has script for the RC S/O Moderate calorie. Due to money being tight he had changed to another over the counter Feline Urinary brand and when nephew brought kitty over for me to care for he brought over the counter brand he had been using. I had noticed that while cleaning litter box there were very small clumps of urine through out for scooping and I thought odd. When this bag was completed I purchased the RC S/O Moderate calorie and within a day or two I noticed there were no more small clumps! Howie wasn't having to go to the litter box near as often and litter box usage was normal comparing to past and current experiences with my own kitties. So I say hooray for the RC S/O Moderate Calorie food and this has made a huge difference for Howie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from He loves it Been buying it since my cat had a blockage issue. He' s grown to love it. Don't need to worry to much about the other food for my other cats he usually seeks me out to feed him. Also get the mig moderate calorie also. Even though he was always a dry food lover he loves this also. He looks to get this at night. I pray I can keep being able to get it, my finances aren't in the best of shape. Thank you for helping him with your products, glad he loves it. Been 3 years now, and he still loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bye bladder cystals I started my cat on this diet shortly after we adopted him and he developed bladder crystals (struvite). It was recommended by his vet. When I decided to switch him to regular food he started to have symptoms again. My cat has been on nothing but Urinary SO wet and dry food for the last 4 years. He prefers the wet food, but is happy with the dry food as well. My dog even prefers to eat the cats Urinary SO dry cat food over his own non prescription food! I was very please that they started offering the moderate calorie option, my 17 lb feline did not need any extra calories!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cats love it I have two cats with urinary issues and they both LOVE this food. I buy the moderate calorie mostly to help prevent overweight as they are both borderline plump. There are other cats in the household and they would much prefer this food over what they are normally fed. In my experience, cats generally don't care for the food that is good for them, but this food is an exception. It smells good enough to eat and apparently is! My only objection is the high cost as I would love to be able to feed this to all my cats. I can only afford to give it to the ones that really need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great, keeping my cat healthy my cat had been to the vet 3 time for unirary blockage, I was about to put him down but the vet recommended this food, said if I kept him on it he should have no more problems, he has been on this for about 3 years and has had no problems, he uses this along with a can of the urinary so wet food (reg not low calorie, about 1/4 can a day)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Cats Love it I have a a food-obsessed Siamese that used to get urinary crystals. The Royal Canin S/O does exactly what it is designed to to, which is to encourage water drinking. He has not had an issue since being on this diet. Unfortunately, he loves it so much, that even though it is reduced calorie, he overeats and hasn't lost any weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This food saved my cat from having surgery. About 4 years ago my cat Sylvester, then about 3 yrs old, had 2 urinary blockages. I was sure he would need surgery (as 2 of my male cats required in the past). My vet recommeded Royal Canin Urinary S/O. I was skeptical but Sylvester loves both the dry and canned and to this day is healthy and has never had another blockage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My cat liked it, but it was so costly My vet recommended my cat use this food following surgery to remove bladder stones. I want to feed my cat what she needs, but the cost is prohibitive! Money is an issue and a small bag of food costs almost $40. I was buying two bags a month. $80 a month may not be a burden to some households, but it is a high burden on my family's expenses. I also tried to turn in two rebates, as offered by Royal Canin, and both got rejected as being turned in too late to qualify. I know that I turned them in before the deadline, but didn't have the time or energy argue with the company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food for my crystal prone cat Amigo has been doing great on this food, he's a large cat and the lower calories have helped with his weight. My whole feline crew eats this for lunch, and love it. They are a picky bunch, and yet have loved this since the first time. It is great for Amigo, since he had crystals twice and since on this has had no issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saved my cat! My 9 year old cat, Jasmine, was put on this a year ago due to huge bladder stone as a result of a poor quality food she was switched to ( totally my fault, which makes it horrid). We thought the food was going to be safe, that it was still a good quality food at a lower price point. It definitely was not and our poor cat almost paid the ultimate price. She is on this prescription food for the rest of her life, our other cat eats it as well. Thank you for making this food! I only wish we were able to get some coupons to help with the cost, as it is a pricy food to be on.
