Keeps my IBD cat healthy

My 2 year old cat was diagnosed with IBD earlier this year. His vet immediately prescribed him budesonide (steroid) and this food. Since then, he has not had any issues with any IBD symptoms. This food and his steroid are a life saver. If he sneaks his brother's regular cat food, he vomits. But this food always goes down just fine. Whether he has to stay on the steroid long term or not is unknown, but I know for sure he'll always be on this amazing food! I'm so glad it's available for cats with food sensitivities and IBD and that we didn't have to go through a long, drawn-out series of food trials and continued suffering trying to find something that worked. I'm so glad my vet knew immediately to use this food. I hope all vets learn the value of HP food. I'd love to see a wet food version of this made soon.

Hives disappeared and vomiting stopped

Mottyl had been doing well on Hill’s Sensitive Stomach and Skin, Egg and Rice, but they changed the formula without warning or explanation. Her skin allergy (hives around her neck that turned into scabs) soon returned, as did her near daily vomiting. Our vet recommended your Hydrolyzed Protein food. The vomiting stopped and the hives cleared up. She likes the taste, as does her sister, Arry, so they now are both eating it. I am so hopeful that she continues to do well with this formula! Thank you!

Stopped the constant vomiting

Our Mew Mew has been on the hydrolyzed protein food for over a year now. We adopted her at age 10 and her former owner noted that she threw up daily. Actually, she threw up SEVERAL times a day, which I at first attributed to hairballs since this was my first long haired cat. Then the scabs under her fur appeared and she proceeded to lick herself bald! The vet prescribed a course of prednisone and the Hydrolyzed Protein HP food. It took Mew Mew only a few days to accept the food and it has been a Godsend! The puking stopped for good and her coat gradually grew back. Many friends and family members have commented on how soft her fur is! The food is expensive, but lasts a while for us since she is a small cat and we get the 7.7 lb bag which lasts about 4 months. Well worth the price so that we are not cleaning up cat puke multiple times a day. Can't say enough positive things about this food!!

Worked wonders for my IBD Kitty!

I received my first bag of this just over a month ago and it has been a life saver! My just turned 2yr old kitty was diagnosed with IBD and it has been miserable to control. We have tried so many prescription foods with little to no success until we found this! Meow Meows IBD was so bad that he was throwing up even while he was on medication and already on another brand of hydrolyzed food. Once I switched to this his throwing up not only stopped but he is almost completely weaned off the medication also! I cannot say enough good things about this after the success I have had with it. We literally had nothing left to do for my poor guy and having to give him meds daily was making him even more miserable. So happy to have found Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein, it literally saved my little guys life and I cannot give enough thanks!

Changed kitty's life!

My sweet 1.5 year old calico had chronic cat acne on her chin and also had eosinophilic granuloma complex, often on her lips. Her vet aid it could possibly be a protein allergy and suggested a specialized protein diet. I read all the amazing reviews on the Royal Canin site for this food and decided to try it. Twelve weeks later and not a single outbreak! This food is amazing. Thank you Royal Canin!

Saved my cats life

My cat Bear was horribly sick growing up. He never seemed to put on weight and was constantly having turds randomly pop out of his butt (he was as surprised as I was). He originally was diagnosed with IBS. I switched him to this amazing food immediately and he gained weight, his skin stopped flaking, and no more surprise turds! I came to find out recently he has nerve congenital nerve damage in his back end making his intestines not work properly. This food is pure magic. You get what you pay for! Although I do wish it was not as expensive for this broke college kid;)

IBD Cat Healthy and Comfortable

We inherited a family cat who had had diarrhea for about as long as we had known him. At approximately 10 years of age he had watery diarrhea and had been losing weight over the past two years. We first tried the novel protein approach, which seemed to help a little but not significantly. We then tried prednisolone and another brand of hydrolyzed protein diet. This was the best combination yet, but he still had quite loose stools and obvious times of discomfort when he would posture and vocalize his pain. We tried to keep his interest in his canned food and pred by sprinkling another kind of hypoallergenic food on top of his dish, but that food was unavailable for several weeks. Our vet said that Royal Canin also made a hydrolyzed protein diet, so we might try that instead. I gradually began adding Royal Canin to his regular food and when we ran out of the other two brands he received only Royal Canin HP. After 3-4 days I observed him pass the first formed stool he has had in perhaps 5 years or more. After 2 weeks his stool is even more normal and he no longer has any episodes where he looks uncomfortable. It is a miracle! We worked with different diets for almost 4 months and found this one by chance. He was always an affectionate cat, but now he follows us around all day and wants to be held constantly. He is more laid back and clearly so grateful to be comfortable. His coat looks great, he has continued to gain the weight he lost over the past two years and now feels a little round when I pick him up. I encourage owners to explore other hypoallergenic diets and not assume they are all alike. Although this food is expensive it is the only thing that we have found that works for our kitty and so it is priceless!

My Cat is Going to Live!

I was really worried about my kitty who seems to be allergic to most meat proteins. This food has saved her life. She likes the taste and even though it is soya based, it is balanced nutrition. My friends say she is the most well groomed cat the seen. My vet was pleased with her check up. I only hope one day they come up with a canned version and possibly more hydrolyzed meats and flavors, but for now I am pleased.

Healed My Kitties Paws

Best Cat food ever! My cat loves it and it has healed the issues he has had with his paws for years now. I just wish it came in a wet food option as well. The dogs have a wet option, Don't understand why the cats don't.

Expensive, but good for kitty’s IBD

But this food every time now, even with change to their formulation. Expensive, but good for kitty’s IBD. Otherwise pukes up other foods.
