Formula change?

Bought this back in September, and it worked great to relieve my Cat of its IBD. Re-order on in December has caused the IBD to come back, it seems. Several reviews on other retailers have described similar changes, and while they were told the formula has not changed (just packaging), they had noticed the food looks of a different color. While I have not been aware of pellet shape/color changes, the timeline of when the IBD issues re-occured (in December) seems to corroborate with timelines of issues other customers have had. If there has been no formula change, I can only assume some inventory batch has been contaminated with something that is affecting an outlier group of customers. Is there anyone I can contact to trace back the inventory lot #?

My cat was suffering from severe diarrhea

My cat was suffering from severe bouts of diarrhea on and off for about one year. After 2 fecal tests fro my vet that came back negative, before undergoing many expensive tests, she suggested we try this food. I weened him off his regular dry food slowly and he has been on this for about one year and no more diarrhea! He loves the taste also. I would’ve given it more stars, however like so many others on here, I wish it came in a smaller 4 lb. bag. He does not eat a lot and the large bag lasts for many months. I live in Florida like I saw someone else on here stated, and it is very humid. The food goes bad before he can finish the bag! Please consider making a smaller bag!

Not great

My cat was prescribed this and was on it for nearly a year. He likes it. However after almost a year he started projectile vomiting every few days, there was always some undigested food in the mess. I had a weird feeling it may be this so I did a test and took it away and only fed his wet food. Vomiting gone. I’ve read other reviews, not on this site, that have said similar, so much so they have said their babies were near death, lethargic, very sick. The ingredient list has a lot of fillers in this. Something in there is not good. This is also very expensive, even so, I threw the remainder of the bag in the garbage and will not give my cat anymore. He is on a dif brand dry food and he has no issues.

Great product

I have one cat who has some type of skin allergies and we have been trying to try single protein diet food to see what works for him. I have two additional cats all three love this food.

Only Food My Siamese Can Eat

This is the only allergy food our Siamese cat can eat without breakouts. We've tried everything else and they all cause major issues. I don't know what we'd do if this food was not available for some reason. As a young cat from the time we adopted her she got crabby and had attitude issues and agression which we thought was "behavoir". Turned out she was miserable due to food allergies. With medication for the allergy and this food she maintains fine unless she gets into the food the other cats eat due to our error. Thank you to Royal Canin.

Really helped my cat!

My poor cat as a kitten had so many allergies to food. His food was changed by the vet so many times and finally this food was suggested. It made a world of difference and I love that they even have wet food in this product so he can also have a nice treat sometimes with the wet food

It works for my cat!

My senior cat Sadie developed GI issues a few years ago, likely IBD. In consultation with our vet, we tried a number of different diets without much success. In the meantime she was put on steroids which helped her symptoms but I did not want to keep her on them long-term. Thankfully once we tried the Selected Protein PR dry food, her symptoms began to clear up within 1-2 weeks, and I was able to take her off of the steroids. She has been doing well now for over 2 years and happily eats this food. Personally I think the smell is off-putting but she doesn't seem to mind. I'm very grateful we found something that works for Sadie.

Delicious!

My pet was placed on a special diet by my veterinarian and this food was prescribed. He loves it so much I actually have to hide the bag from him because he was chewing a hole into the side to get more!
