Product description

Cats and dogs with CKD can often have waxing and waning appetites. Since pets rely on more than just taste when determining what they will eat, ROYAL CANIN® RENAL SUPPORT diets include several aromatic profiles along with kibble texture, shape and size that can help stimulate decreased appetites. Available in multiple aromatic profiles, in both wet and dry food, the diets can be easily mixed or rotated to provide multiple feeding options.

best dog food

Our little terrier mix girl Molly was 15 when she starting having health issues. We were able to keep her alive and going good with this dog food for a whole year longer. So thankful! Thank you!

Boston Terrier approved! He's addicted.

Otis is a 3yrs old Boston Terrier w/ CKD due to a case of neglect. Over 3 months ago we tried Renal D when he had a set back w/ his illness & refused his normal Renal diet. We did try the pate from Royal Canin 1st but let's just say he did not like that at all ( the look on his face & unfinished food in his bowl said it all.) I was so happy & relieved when he ate the Renal D, as you all know it is not good when a CKD dog stops eating. He ate Renal D w/o hesitation & knows the can by sight. He loves it so much I still have to mix some in with his dry Renal kibble. And heaven forbid I take "too long" getting his food ready; he will start making his Boston/ gremlin noises at me & every time he gets louder. If you are looking for a great Renal food to get your dog eating again try this food!

My dog is happy!

It seems my almost 17 year old dog has kidney issues and once we started on this diet, he's stabilized and seems much better. The vet said he's doing phenomenal. I'm so happy this choice was here for my best friend. I love you, Royal Canin!

Dogs don't like it.

I bought this because Vet recommended it. I'm sorry to say that my two dogs don't care for it. I have to mix it with other food.

Our old girl loves it

Our 15+ y.o. beagle mix has been on a renal diet for the past year. We had to try several of the varieties, which were not great, before we got to the "D" formula. She hated the dry food and I worried she was losing her appetite (sign of a problem), then we tried the canned pate style, which she willingly ate, but it's very sticky consistency made it difficult for her to eat (think of eating a peanut butter sandwich with too much peanut butter on it). The morsels are perfect though and she's able to eat with ease and eagerness. And it has helped with her kidney enzyme levels, which is the whole point.

She loves it

Our Cairn Terrier, Jenny, was very sick and is very picky about her food. She doesn't like much but she loves this food ... we have tried a lot of different foods and this is one of a few renal support diets she will eat. I was making her food for awhile because she didn't like any dry renal dog foods, even when we spiked it with low sodium chicken broth. I am glad we tried Canin Renal Support D ... her kidney blood numbers are almost normal now and since this is wet food, I don't worry nearly as much about her getting enough fluids to flush her kidneys and she drinks a lot less. It would be great if it were not so expensive but we are just thrilled she will eat it.
