Horrible product

Feed grade animal product. Rice Soy Chicken fat Fish oil Aluminum This is a vegan diet, that will ultimately make any cat more sick... Cats are obligate carnivores. Meaning they will die without MEAT in their diet. Any veterinary professional with knowkedge of biology & physiology should know this product will not create health and healing in a cat. Especially one already suffering from health issues.

Solved Diarrhea Issue

This is the only food that my cat can digest and does not lead to diarrhea. I wish there was a wet food option for cats as well.

Caused so many problems rather than fixing them

Caused my cat to need emergency cystotomy surgery to remove crystals the size a human would have. Was told by Royal Canin that "there's no guarantee the SO Index will prevent crystals". That answer is entirely unacceptable and says it all about the company.

Saved my kitty

I adopted a cat full of open sores that the vet couldn’t fix. She was on antibiotics and creams. Turns out she was allergic to regular cat food and scratching open her skin. This food changed her life! She’s no longer in pain, she’s living happy and healthy. Just wish it was a little less expensive!

New Formula Not Working (Vomiting / Diarrhea)

My male cat has been on a vet prescribed diet of Royal Canin HP for years. With this last bag I picked up the cat has been vomiting and litter box output is very runny. Nothing else has changed. I smelled the bag today and it smells very strongly of a vitamin smell, which I don't recall with the previous bags. I'm changing out his food until I can get in to see his vet.

Protein rash is back!

My cat is allergic to protein. She ate this for year's. The last three bags has left her with rashes. I asked the vet if they switched the formula. I was told no. Today, I'm researching renal food for my other girl. So, I decided to research Sunami's food, read all this crap and oh my goodness....we were about to book her in to the vets for blood work, as we could not figure out the rash problem. The rash is only present when she gets protein in her system. I emailed RC months ago regarding their negligence- they left my city and surrounding towns dry of this food. RC did not respond. Typical. Reading all this just infuriates me. All these formula changes RC does. I think I'm better off to check out Hills or even Purinas Vet line.

Please go back to original formula.

My cat used to love this food, but ever since we opened the most recent bags after noticing the change of the bag and then noticed she has done a complete 180. Instead of running over to her bowl and eating her food, she now avoids it until she is hungry. We attempted adding warm water and she licks all the water off. I suspect it's due to the formulation change everyone else is mentioning. Something definitely changed, which is a shame given how limited the options already are for HP cat food. Like other cats, her issues with vomitting and her stool which had gotten better on this food is now worse. We will have to find something else.
