We went through several RX foods and this one is the only one our cat could tolerate. Opened new bag and she will not eat it unless she is starving. Even then, she only eats a tiny bit. Very disappointing.

My boy has been working with the vet for the right mix of prescription food, food he could tolerate and food he liked to eat. Finally got the right combination then Royal Canin HP was out of stock most places and upon it's return, the formula had to have changed. I first noticed when scooping into the dish. The kibble seemed different - lighter? Less than 2 days after opening new bag, my boy started vomiting again daily. What changed and why, Royal Canin? Rating would be higher if formula wasn't changed for the worse.

My cats used to love this food, but ever since we opened the most recent bag they have done a complete 180. Instead of running over to their bowls and eating all their food in one sitting like they would before, they now avoid it until they're so hungry that they have to begrudgingly eat it. I suspect it's due to the formulation change everyone else is mentioning. Something definitely changed, which is a shame given how limited the options already are for HP cat food. We will have to find something else.

My cat was on this for a year—opened my latest bag nd he will no longer go near it! He’s pushing 20 pounds so fussiness is NOT an issue. Also had to stop feeding him the companion wet food as he vomited it up almost every time. Royal Canin what on earth did you do?!?

My cat has been eating this food for a year with success, but about a month to two months ago his skin allergies came back and his vomiting has increased again. I am seeing other comments around the same time as me having issues that the formula was changed and their cats started having issues again. Not sure why you changed the formula if it worked. It is already a really expensive product, why give the owners a headache.

Formula change!
Yup, they did it, a formula change. And with NO labeling of such, simply a new "modern" looking bag. I'm so disgusted that a PRESCRIPTION food can be tweaked without ANY indication. My cat immediately got sick. And yes, I DID compare ingredients on the old and new, and the ORDER has changed, aka, it's listed from most used to least used.
Shame on you, not indicating the change.

Obviously the formula has changed. Opened a new bag and my cat is up chucking his foods. No vet problems. Soo what the heck did you do with this food. It smells different out of the bag. Hope this stuff isn't produced in China.

21 févr. 2021Solved diarrhea issue with my cat, however....
This food worked wonders with my cat who was having IBS and food allergy related diarrhea. I have been feeding her this food for about 3 months and she has had solid stools. However, recently she began eating bits of her clay litter, and the vet did bloodwork and tests, showing she is ok and not anemic. But I am wondering if this food is not quite high enough in protein/iron for my cat as she seems to go to lick the clay constantly for extra minerals. She never had done this before in her life. I don't think it's behavioral either...as nothing has changed other than her food. I would recommend this food highly though for anyone having IBS/IBD issues with their cat, it seems to work very well. A little expensive though..

After numerous infections on my cat Mallow’s face, it was finally discovered that he was allergic to chicken. Royal Canin Hydrolyzed dry food is the only food my cat can eat. He has been eating this for about 5 years and he never tires of it. He still looks forward to getting fed every morning! He is almost 9 and is very healthy with a beautiful white coat. I would never feed any animal any other food except one from the Royal Canin line!

I was reluctant to put my cat on this food two years ago because I think it has disgusting ingredients but they loved it anyways this new formula that I was sent my cat who eats everything will not even touch it what did you do how could you have made it worse
