Really helps reduce vomiting for my kitty

My medium haired cat started producing more hairballs as she aged, and by the time she was 10 year sold, it progressed to frequent random vomiting (sometimes hairballs, sometimes food, sometimes just water/bile). Her stools were always good, however. But there was one week where the vomiting just would not stop, and she was literally throwing up every single thing she ate. I took her to the vet to rule out a bowel obstruction, and they diagnosed her after x-ray with possible IBS or Intestinal Lymphoma (both look similar on x-ray and have similar symptoms). Either way, they said the the RC HP food would be their recommended first line of treatment. Up until that point she ate mostly natural/holistic brands and some raw foods. When the vomiting and hairballs got too frequent, I changed her to RC Hairball formula (dry and wet) and that initially reduced her hairball vomiting by quite a lot for about a year. So I was fine switching her to the RC prescription food, just sad that there is no wet food option, but beggars can't be choosers! She transitioned really well to the HP and the vomiting stopped IMMEDIATELY. She does have softer stool sometimes (it's pretty random but nothing too problematic) but the vomiting was cut by like 95%. She now only occasionally throws up a hairball or might throw up bile if we're late feeding her. I know that it wont necessarily manage her forever if she really does have IBS or lymphoma, but so far she is doing as well as you can hope after more than a year. Her skin and coat look nice and she eats it happily!

Ingredient list change

My cat had vomiting episodes last year and this food cured him completely. Now he’s having diarrhea for weeks and we think we just discovered it’s bc the recipe was changed to the food with no notice! So disappointing that we have to now look for another food.

The new formula now has chicken

I’ve been buying this food for years because my cat is allergic to chicken and it was one of the only foods she can eat and that my other cat was willing to eat. I’ve noticed the last few months that she’s been scratching herself a lot and couldn’t figure out why. Now I know it’s because you’ve added chicken to the recipe and I wasn’t aware! Very disappointing!!

Old Version Better

The new formula isn't working for our cats at all. We had stocked up on the bag that read: Hypoallergenic Hydrolyzed Protein. When we went to pick it up a few days ago the look of the bag had changed but the vet's office assured us it was the same formula. Well of course it wasn't. No notice was given that this change was happening and the vet's office wasn't even notified of the change. The new formula has a different smell to it and the cats won't touch it. We are in a bind now because all they can eat is the Hydrolyzed Protein soy based food. Please bring back the old formula.

very disappointed in your new formula

Please return to the old formula. For my cat's care, I need to trust the quality of your products and the integrity of your company. This new new formula is horrible in many ways, now very poor quality. Quality food is life and death for the animals we are responsible for. I will no longer buy or recommend it. Thank you.

Disappointed again

Extremely disappointed in what Royal Canin has done lately. My cat has severe food sensitivities and this new formula is causing her great issues. It has a terrible smell to it and seems extremely greasy. I won't feed this to my cat. So between discontinuing the Fibre canned food and now changing your recipe for the Hydrolyzed food I can't see how you're doing anything helpful for our furry friends. Bring back the old recipe and the Fibre cat food. I won't buy any Royal Canin products moving forward otherwise, and will not recommend any of your products to other cat owners that have sensitivity issues.

New Formula

This was the only food my cat could eat without having intestinal issues until you changed the formula. Now she won't eat it. It has a horrible greasy smell and feel to it as well. This is not a nutritional improvement if the cats won't eat it. Bring back the old formula.

Disappointed in the ingredient list

The ingredient list relative to the cost is staggering. It causes my kitty to have really pale yellow poops. I have no problem paying a premium for high quality food but this is not it.
