Recently diagnosed feline diabetes

My nearly 12 y.o. American Bobtail became sickly several months ago. I chalked it up to him growing older, maybe his little body couldnt digest run of the mill foods anymore, so I went with less grains and more protiens, it barely helped .. but then within approx. a week, he dropped around 13 pounds and was so lethargic. After a vet trip, which I already had in my head would be his last, he was diagnosed with feline diabetes. The vet explained that we would start insulin and we would try special foods, and whatever my cat liked and could tolerate, we would have to stay with that food. The vet gave me the glycobalance and within a day, my cat was eating and loving the food. This food along with his insulin (twice a day), has him acting more like his old self than he has been in a long time, adding maybe a bit more grump and attitude. So a month in, and into the 2nd bag, for now this is where we stop. Love.

Worth every penny

My male cat was always getting sick. Vet ran test and said he was diabetic. Started with this food and insulin shots. Had to stop insulin as he had reactions to it. But kept him on the food. He has been in remission for a year!

Great for my diabetic cat

This food has been great for my diabetic cat but he has few teeth and dang the kibble is so big it’s made for a small dog. I have to smash the food with a hammer so he can eat it, PLEASE MAKE THIS IN SMALLER KIBBLE FIR CATS at least 1/2 the size, other than that it’s doing the job

Not good for my cat

I have a very brittle diabetic cat who has been on another brand of diabetic food for a while now. I wanted to give him something a little different for a change. He LOVED it. Unfortunately his glucose readings did not. He would shoot up into the upper 450 range and his usual dose of insulin did nothing for it. After a few days, I decided it might be the food and for the last 24 hours have had him back on the original diabetic food. Gave him his insulin this morning and instead of fighting to get him below 400, he was in the 50s. So I'm going back to the insulin dose he was on before I tried the Royal Canin. I'm sorry it didn't work but if you have a cat who's a brittle diabetic I wouldn't recommend it at all. He's happy today because with his low readings he's getting a lot of treats. I'd also recommend using a Libre glucose monitor. It's easy to apply and I can spot check him as often as I want without ever having to stick him.

Bigger bag please I beg of you!

I think the food is great. My cat’s blood sugars dropped into a more acceptable range and eventually I was able to decrease his insulin as well. That being said, we are a multi cat household (5), and I am hemorrhaging money buying these small bags vs a large bag. They used to be on urinary SO, and I was able to purchase a 17lb bag at a time, which was much more cost effective. I share the sentiments that many others that a larger bag is needed! Thank you!

Why not a bigger bag??

It's frustrating that I have to buy three bags of this to get through the month. Why not sell in larger packages to save on cost a big?

Excellent Diabetic Cat Food

My cat has been on this food for years and loves it. She has diabetes (prior to starting the food) and it has been great. I LOVE THE SIZE OF THE BAG. Please keep making this... I'm having a hard time finding it right now.

Great for Diabetic Cat! Need a bigger bag. Pricey

My newly Diabetic Cat likes it and it keeps his numbers regulated. Please sell a bigger bag and it is a little pricey - maybe a better deal $ if you buy a bigger bag.
