Something changed and now makes cat sick

My cat has been using this food for several years. At first it was fine. It does the trick for her gastro issues. 9lb bags of prescription food for one cat is ridiculous and sometime in the last couple years something changed and I can only get through about half a bag of food and then she gets sick. So I’m throwing away all this food. Unfortunately no replacement food has worked so I’m stuck with this less than stellar product in a huge bag.
Royal Canin response
I am very sorry to hear that. Please contact us via email as we would like to gather more information about this issue.

Cured my cat!

My now 14 year-old Maine Coon mix developed chronic diarrhea and our vet put him on this (along with the canned version) and within a few days he was back to normal poops. I was worried that he might not like it, but they weren’t kidding when they said that this us “highly palatable”. He was practically tearing at the bag when I opened the box. He likes the canned slices and treats, too, although I have been having trouble getting the treats lately.

Great GI support

I rescued 6 kittens who were about a week old, from a construction site. the smallest, was desperately trying to thrive but was have GI issues from day one. I knew he would be a special kitty so I kept him. At 6 months it was found out that his GI issues(Major issues) were due to a crushed pelvis. He underwent surgery and is now all better but suffers from GI issues due to nerve damage. This is the ONLY medicated food he would eat, so he has been on it since February. Over the counter brands just don't cut it due to his nerve damage and have caused horrendous blockage. He needs extra help from oral med's and this food to keep his GI functioning as normal as possible. He loves life now and is a playful, happy critter now! I am so happy to know he loves this food and that it is providing the help to his GI that he needs! I only wish it was easier to get. Being stuck in the middle of busy vet schedules and retailers can really cause anxiety when this food isn't easily accessible because of the reliance of scripts! that is the only reason I haven't given a 5 out of 5. When scripts don't get called in or a retailer is out of stock, you are at their mercy... but food-wise, I am grateful it is an option for my little guy.

We appreciate your feedback! We are glad to know that your cat is doing good in our formula. We are doing our best to get our stock levels back to normal. At this time the GI formula is available in store and online.

The ONLY Remedy That Has Worked.

Our new (to us) 5 year old cat began showing signs of constipation 5 months ago...and it became progressively worse. He was defecating once every 30 to 50 hours, and it was a lot....very hard and very dry. He would paw his litter box several times before doing so and cry out in pain when he did. We tried everything. First, we went through 5 or 6 over the counter remedies, then another 3 or 4 meds and/or prescription diets prescribed by our local vet with little success. I suspected mega colon, so we transported him down to ARISE Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Hospital down in Phoenix, to be seen by an Internal Medicine Specialist. After a physical examination, x rays, and an ultrasound, Dr. Carter recommended that we try your Gastrointestinal Biber Response Dry Cat Food Product. We noticed a huge improvement within 48 hours. It's now been 6 days since we took Buddy in to ARISE, and I am hugely relieved. We have cut down on the lactulose, and I believe he will no longer need it. The Cisapride he is on will remain for now, but we are hopeful that we can take him off that in the near future. We are SO thankful for this product.

Tempted the appetites of all three sick cats

All 3 of my cats (age 5, 7 and 14+) came down with a short-term viral illness that gave them gastrointestinal upset (both ends) and they were not interested in eating. My mother offered me some of this dry food. Her cats are on this food as they DO have chronic gastrointestinal conditions and vomit with other food. I am pleased to say that, while my (normally unfussy) cats were barely sniffing at other foods, that they did enjoy this blend. I would like to have it for my oldest cat who is starting to lose weight, but I don't know if it is appropriate for his current dietary needs, which is the R.C.Urinary support (for his tendency to have crystals in his urine).

Gave my cat a longer life

We’ve been using this food for my cat Chino who has mega colon. Without this option he wouldn’t be here today.

Lifesaver

One of my cats started have GI symptoms out of the blue and was initially prescribed the wet version of this food and liked it but once we were able to switch to the dry he was so happy. He gets so excited when it is meal time and he looks so much healthier. Prior to switching he struggled to put on weight and now he has been able to maintain a healthy weight. And his GI symptoms are gone!

Please change the design

I've bought the wrong bag of cat food more than once now because all the packaging looks exactly the same - This time I bought the High Fiber one by accident. If you changed your packaging - even just in different colors - for the different types of cat food, I'm sure many people could avoid this in the future!

Rectal Prolapsed Kitten

I have a 6 month old kitten that was suffering with rectal prolapsed. he undergoes a surgery and managed to survive. It works great and I'm truly grateful as this can help my cat to poop normally. Unfortunately, it is very pricey as I live in Malaysia. A bag of 2 kg is MYR 100-something :/ but I understand why the price point quite high.
