Why does it have CARRAGEENAN?

Doesn't it cost cancer to cats? It's so weird that my cat has been diagnosed with IBD and now has cancer and my cat has been eating this since 2022. Please explain!

Keeps Changing for the Worse

It seems that every time I get a new case of this food, it is less and less palatable for my cat. The older formula in the larger cans from last year were actually good - colour was a light beige and texture had some juice to it and my cat loved it. Then when the packaging was re-formulated, the food became more brown and dryer and was somewhat tolerated by my cat with some wasted food. It was out of stock for 4-5 months on my vet store and has recently returned but to no avail - it looks and smells awful like it's gone bad, and my cat will not touch it. This is concerning because it's a prescription diet and necessary, but I started buying the Merrick Limited Ingredient Duck from the pet store and it's great. Not sure what Royal Canin is doing these days but I give no points for consistency and quality, that's for sure.

Quantity reduction for the same price

Have to feed my cat this for due to allergies. Was very disappointed to the reduced can size for the same price. After reading all the reviews voicing the same disappointment you would think you would listen to your consumers and reverse back to the larger can or adjust the price. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Smaller can! Expensive ☹️

You changed the name, label and reduced size- not the price- did you think consumers wouldn’t notice!!

Bait and switch

I have been feeding my cat with IBD your food for years, and he's done very well on it. But now you are charging the same for 0.8 oz less food in each can! Way to thank your loyal customers.

Reduced amount and cal/can for same price

I will be changing brands due to this cost increase. It worked well but is now cost prohibitive.

Reduced Amount, Same Price?!

We've had our cat on this per veterinary recommendations due to stomach issues for almost a year now. They've now adjusted the can size to 5.1oz instead of 5.9oz but have kept the price the same. Their website still says it is 181kcal in the description but that is not correct. It is now 158kcal. I have asked my vet for other recommendations as now I have to pay MORE for food than original (which is already rather pricey).

Smaller can, same price

I am very disappointed in the most recent can size change. I have a 15 year old cat that has been on Duck & Pea for over 5 years. The can has always been 5.9oz. I received my shipment from my veterinarian this week only to find out they are now 5.1oz cans (needing a smaller can cover now) but the same price for 24 pack as the 5.9oz! I always recommended Royal Canin when I worked in the veterinary field but now I’m going to have to consider other prescription brands. If the can size reduced that much then the price should have reflected that. I’m disappointed because I do believe in the quality of the food.

My Fur baby loves it

Great food for senior cats. My boy started on it and dry version after having a leg amputated. The food was easy on his stomach and helped him recover quickly

Good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good caloric amount, my cats like it as an alternative to S/O.
