The kibble’s shape, size, texture and formula are adapted to the German Shepherd, encouraging him to chew.

A longer colonic transit time combined with large breed dogs’ higher colonic permeability can lead to more fermentation and poor stool quality. GERMAN SHEPHERD ADULT contributes to supporting this breed’s sensitive digestive system with highly digestible L.I.P.* proteins and a selection of specific fibers to limit intestinal fermentation and to help maintain a balanced intestinal flora. *Protein selected for its very high digestibility.

The skin and coat reflect the dog’s state of health, and appropriate nutrition plays an important part in maintaining their quality. The GERMAN SHEPHERD ADULT formula helps support the skin’s role as a barrier with an exclusive complex of nutrients and helps maintain skin and coat health (EPA and DHA).

The lively temperament of the German Shepherd leads to hard working joints. The GERMAN SHEPHERD ADULT formula helps support healthy bones and joints and helps maintain ideal weight. Enriched with EPA and DHA.

German Shepherds are well-known for their intelligence and athleticism. With targeted nutrients, GERMAN SHEPHERD ADULT helps to support skin, joints and muscles, while the customized kibble has an increased surface area to increase digestibility.

My picky GSD loves this food

My 8 month old GSD hates kibble. I’ve tried several brands with no success as he will eat nothing but moist food. I bought him a small bag of Royal Canin German Shepherd and offered him a piece as a treat this afternoon. He gobbled it right up! All afternoon I gave him pieces as ‘special treats’. He had a can of moist food for dinner and was begging for more of his ‘special treats’. I just caught him in the pantry with his head in the bag! I think we have a winner!

Best formula for GSD

I think this is the best food for my GSD so far. We started with Blue Buffalo and then Purina. This formula so far is the best and she loves it

The only food she needs

We used to enhance other brand dog food to get our girl to eat. She has been eating RC dry food for a month without need for enhancements

Not just for German Shepherds

I had my 15 month old Cane Corso on a different food. Her skin was very dry, she was shedding terribly. Then she stopped eating all together. My trainer gave her some of his GSD's food and she loved it. I bought a bag and switched her without even weaning her off the old food and she had NO gastrointestinal issues or upset stomach. It was amazing. She has gained weight and her coat has improved dramatically.

Great for sensitive stomachs in other large breeds

We adopted a 2y/o husky about 3 months ago. He’s big for his breed (but at a good weight) and our vet recommended a well balanced non-grain free diet. She gave us a few brands and mentioned she fed her husky the Royal Canin GSD. We bought one of the other brands initially (solely based on availability) and started the process to switch our husky from the food his foster family was feeding him to the vet recommended non-grain free. He didn’t have a solid stool at all - we even tried the sensitive stomach formula of the initial brand and it made it even worse. We were at a loss and ready to take him for allergy testing and to feed him homemade food until we could sort out the issues. When we were able to find the Royal Canin GSD blend. We grabbed a bag and made the switch - we didn’t even blend the foods. It was a hard cut over (his stools were already liquid and he was miserable what was the worst that could happen?!) within 2 days of this blend his stools were a healthy consistency. He’s been on the food for 2 weeks now and has more energy than he had when we first brought him home. He’s a really picky husky - like won’t eat most treats unless they are just animal protein and he seems to enjoy this food.
