Formula Change - Royal Canin please respond

Like other reviewers, I bought multiple bags of this kibble at once due to difficulty in being able to consistently find it. When I most recently bought a new batch of kibble, the kibble was not the same. It is smaller and the formula has changed. My cat does not like it as much. Royal Canin, please respond to my review with information as to why the formula was changed and what was changed. There are a number of other reviews here that have noted the same thing without a response from you. Thank you for your consideration.

Not for senior dogs with sensitive bellies

I bought for my dog who have IBD and renal failure. It was recommended by my dogs vet to transition him from the fabulous RC high fiber diet to this one. My dog hates the smell of it. If my dog goes more than 24 hours without eating he will attempt to eat a little bit of this but it will leave him with horrible gas, saw light brown stool, hiccups, and he will be constantly licking his lips, and again he will not eat for over a day. I would not recommend this food for any picky senior dog who suffers from IBD.

Causes GI issues

Our 13 yr old dog had been on the Renal Support formula for 6 month when local suppliers ran out of stock. In a pinch, I purchased this formula thinking it would be even better for our senior dog as she has had a few GI issues due to stress. Since starting it, she has had many more GI issues. When the regular "Renal Support" formula was back in stock, I switched her back and she hasn't had any issues since.

New formula is worse

I have two bags from my vet. One is an older formula and one the is the current formula listed. My dog absolutely loved the old formula. However, when I got a new bag, my dog avoided her food like the plague. It’s really hard to coax her into eating it and I can’t blame her. It was only after comparing directly between old and new that I saw they had slightly different ingredients! Please bring back the old formula. The new formula is putrid smelling. The old formula smelled pretty good (at least for dog food)!

Excellent dog food for kidney issues & allergies

This food is expensive but has helped my elderly Wheaten terrier with his kidney functions and allergies. He didn’t like the taste so I mix a small amount of kidney care can food and water with it.

My dog hates the taste!

My Cocker usually gobbles his food, but I have to go to great lengths to coax him to eat this stuff! I’ve resorted to breaking it up and mixing it with a little of his previous diet; Science Diet ZD, which he loves. How about doing something about the taste of this stuff; since he needs both the renal function and the skin support? I will say the skin support is superior to the Science Diet, though.

Helps very much!

Our 13 year old Labrador Retriever was switched from another Renal prescription food to this product, due to very lose stools on the other product. I switched him pretty quick because we were running out of the previous product. No problem...he loves the food, his stools are perfect and he seems quite energetic given his age, which tells me he feels better.
