Has anyone else’s dog lost weight since the formula changed? Ours had always done so well on this food, but over the past couple of months, we cannot keep weight on her. She’s all clear with the vet for worms and bloodwork, and this is the only thing we can think of. Would be curious to see if others have experienced the same.

My dog has been eating HP for well over 18 months and all of a sudden my dog will not eat it. Based on other comments I can only assume the formula was changed. Why change a good product. Please go back to the original and let us know when that would be.

My dog has been on this food for years. I am disappointed that they changed the recipe. It is extremely mushy and gets all over my dogs mustache and it becomes very messy. I will be looking for another brand that will help my dogs needs.

I put five stars because it used to work with my dog. But since you change the formula in 2024, my dog has declined in health. I checked the PLE Facebook and they are having the same problem. I will be finding a new alternative.

My dog who is 13 has been on this for over 3 years. She has IBS and can easily fall into hemorrhagic gastro enteritis. You changed the formula and now she is exhibiting gastric distress and we had two bouts of IBS before I found out about the formula change! I need to send back the case of canned HP I have and I need to ask if you changed the dry formula as well?

Formula change is terrible. After many tries on many diets we had finally found something our dog liked and was working for her stomach issues. Then unexpectedly the formula was changed and she won’t touch it. And I don’t blame her. The texture and smell is now horrible. And with no explanation as to why this was done, I can then only guess you did it for profit. So disappointing. I mean a food that requires a prescription…… these dogs need a good food. And although I’m sure you made a profit off the old formula, I was willing to pay the higher price. And now unfortunately, I’m going to be back at square one with my dogs health problem. So frustrating when all you want to do is take good care of a living being. I can only hope you take all the feedback, as I see I’m not the only frustrated dog owner, and reevaluate taking the old formula off the market.

We were relieved when we found that this food worked to control our dog's severe skin issues but this last case that was shipped to us was A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FOOD ENTIRELY, and now our dog is sick after just two days of giving Royal Canin the benefit of the doubt. You may be asking yourself, "how can he be so sure they changed the food?" The version of this food to which we are accustomed has a very particular beige/pink gelatinous appearance and consistency. This most recent case, however, is full of food that is grey/brown, crude, and crumbly like cheap traditional wet food.

My dog has inflammatory bowel disease and has done amazing on this for years. Apparently the formula changed and it has made my dog incredibly sick!!! I will never purchase this again and will be returning this product. Quality is horrible. My mom’s dog just got out of the hospital (over $1800.00) due to this same food making her incredibly sick. My dogs won’t even touch this now. So maddening.

The formula was changed a few months ago and it has become an absolute mess to feed. My dog is now sensitive to this product. I was told that the veterinarians were told about this change but the two practices I checked with had not heard about this change. Switching brands.
